August Program: Setting the Stage – Photographing Birds in the Backyard by Herb Lewis
We have a marvelous HPS Program in store for August. Herb Lewis, local birding and photography expert will join us to share some of his birding techniques that has proven so successful for him. I asked Herb to give us a short introduction to his presentation and he gave me the following:
“The presentation illustrates techniques for photographing backyard birds from the comfort of a stationary position inside a home. The emphasis focuses on “setting the stage” with elements of landscape design, gardening principles and installing natural props to capture the diverse behavior and beauty of birdlife. The program will highlight the techniques with personal photos taken in the backyard. The goal is to demonstrate multiple methods for bringing birds in close range for capturing their intriguing characteristics.”
